Age Calculator
Enter a date of birth to get exact age and the days until the next birthday.
Uses the exact-age basis. Leave the reference date blank to use today.
How exact age works
Exact (international) age counts from the day you were born, adding a year each time your birthday passes. You start at 0 and turn 1 on your first birthday. This calculator compares the date of birth with a reference date to compute it precisely.
When to use it
- Applications and forms: confirm age-based eligibility such as 'aged 65 or older'.
- Milestones: gauge dates set by a specific age.
- Birthday countdown: see how many days until the next birthday.
Exact age vs year age
- Exact age: the international standard, counted by birthday. The current official basis in Korea.
- Year age: current year minus birth year, used in some specific laws.
- Traditional Korean age: started at 1 and added a year each New Year — no longer used officially.
The date of birth you enter is calculated only in your browser and is never sent to or stored on a server.

How is age calculated?
From the date of birth: if this year's birthday has passed, it's (this year − birth year); if not, subtract one. The calculator compares against the reference date automatically.
Why do year age and exact age differ?
Year age ignores the birthday and uses 'current year − birth year', so before your birthday it reads one higher than exact age.
Can I change the reference date?
Yes. Leave it blank to use today, or enter a date to get the exact age on that day — including a future date.
Is my date of birth stored?
No. Calculation happens only in your browser and the date is never sent to or stored on a server.
